Jenny Stanjeski

Jenny Stanjeski earned their BFA in Theatrical Design from the Carnegie Mellon University School of Drama. They worked as a scenic artist Off-Broadway while continuing to study painting and the figure at The Art Students League and The New York Academy of Art. An almost two decade long member of USA 829, they painted for over 100 Off-Broadway and Broadway productions, in addition to television, movies, and fashion, before moving onto a permanent position at The Juilliard School.

Ten years ago, Jenny embraced the opportunity to combine their two passions for painting and mentoring by transitioning to two environments that encourage creativity and education at the highest standards.

They now resides as Scenic Charge Artist at The Juilliard School, where they produce scenery and run a Scenic Art Apprenticeship. Additionally, are especially proud to be part of Cobalt Studios’ curriculum and to teach workshops on Flooring, Hard Scenery, and the type of self care that artists need to keep themselves happy and healthy.

In addition to scenic art, Jenny creates artwork under the name Dorothy Darker, and shares and celebrates their enthusiasm for creative community with their collective, House of Darker.
